Rivers of Ink

Rivers of Ink: Literary Reflections on the Penobscot Authors Panel first aired on PMC January 2024. It was recorded at Portland Media Center in November 2023 as part of the launch of a new book!

The panel features a discussion with three of the contributing authors of the recently published anthology entitled: Rivers of Ink: Literary Reflections on the Penobscot. Guests include: Meadow Rue Merrill, Ret Talbot, and Avalon Tate.

Meadow Rue Merrill is the award-winning author of Redeeming Ruth: Everything Life Takes, Love Restores, a memoir about the adoption and loss of her daughter. She has contributed essays to the Boston Globe and the New York Times, and served as a contributing editor to Down East Magazine. Ret Talbot is an award-winning independent journalist, science writer, and author who covers ocean issues and animals at the intersection of science and sustainability. His most recent book is Chasing Shadows, written with shark biologist Greg Skomal about the resurgence in the white shark population in the northwest Atlantic. Avalon Tate is an eighth-grade student at Beech Hill School in Maine. Avalon is the 2023 Telling Room Statewide Writing Contest winner of “Isn’t It Beautiful?” for Hancock County.
